Thomas, the Founder and Director of BMC Ltd, brings more than 12 years of experience in fisheries management, governance, policy development and fisheries consultancy. He specialises in assessing how offshore and coastal developments interact with commercial fisheries and marine environmental receptors, providing clear, defensible, science‑led advice grounded in regulatory alignment and collaborative stakeholder engagement. With expertise spanning a wide range of sectors, he is committed to objectivity and the long‑term sustainability of marine industries, delivering practical, evidence‑based guidance that supports effective coexistence. Thomas has led fisheries research and policy programmes for Government and Fisheries Regulators, delivering statutory scientific advice to support sustainable fisheries management and MPA byelaw development. As a Chartered Marine Scientist with IMarEST and the Science Council, Thomas works to internationally recognised professional standards, ensuring that his work is technically robust, and underpinned by proven competence and accountability.
